Leonardo & Hazel's Story

Leonardo was still in seminary when he and his father were walking down one of the main streets of San Pedro, California. Hearing and following the sound of a gospel song, they arrived at an old-fashioned street meeting. When Leonardo saw the earnest and attractive young lady playing the little portable organ he whispered to his father, “Dad, I'm going to marry that young lady."

The young lady was Hazel Hawley, who had moved with her family from New England to California. Hazel prepared for ministry at the Bible Institute of Los Angeles. She studied Spanish and gave herself to missionary service among the Mexican people in California. Then she met Leonardo in San Pedro.

The couple married and began to serve God together in Phoenix, Arizona.
